CBE Doctoral Dissertation: “Understanding and Controlling Polymer-Porous Solid Interactions for Catalytic Recycling of Polymers” (Tian Ren)
December 1, 2023 at 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Tian Ren
CBE PhD Candidate
Advisors: Dr. Daeyeon Lee & Dr. Raymond J. Gorte
Committee Members: Dr. John M. Vohs (committee chair), Dr. Daeyeon Lee, Dr. Raymond J. Gorte, Dr. Karen I. Winey
Tian Ren is a Ph.D. student co-advised by Profs. Daeyeon Lee and Raymond J. Gorte in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Tian received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Tsinghua University in China. His research interests center around understanding and controlling the interactions between polymers and solids in nanocomposites and polymer transport in porous media. His current research focuses on the confinement effect and the effects of surface chemistry on polymer-solid interactions with the aim of designing enhanced catalytic systems for polymer upcycling.
