The PICS Alumni Spotlight is an opportunity for current students to talk and network with alumni. These talks begin with the speaker discussing their education and career paths and then answering questions from students.
Engineering Physicist at ExxonMobil Research and Engineering
I earned my Ph.D. in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, India, where my dissertation was in the field
of dynamical systems and statistical physics. Following my Ph.D, I conducted my postdoctoral research at the Institute
of Mathematical Sciences in India, Brandeis University, University of Michigan, and at University of Pennsylvania. In
this period, my research areas were in the field of granular physics, dynamical systems and biophysics where I applied
methods of statistical physics to solve interesting problems. During my time at UPenn, I worked with Prof. Ravi
Radhakrishnan (BE Chair), Prof. P. S. Ayyaswamy (formerly at MEAM) and Prof. David Eckmann (formerly at ) and
applied multiscale modeling methods to design optimized drug-carriers for targeted drug delivery. I now work as an
Engineering Physicist at ExxonMobil Research and Engineering, where we apply research in fundamental science to
find energy solutions for the world.
