Cloud droplets grow initially by condensation, and thereafter by colliding and coalescing with each other. We discuss how condensation can make cloud turbulence different from “normal” turbulence. We then ask about caustics: locations where droplet collisions may occur. In toy vortical flows we find surprising ways in which caustics may form, and create lucky drops capable of triggering rain.
