UPDATE ON UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA 2020 COMMENCEMENT CELEBRATIONS:

To protect the health of our graduates, their families, alumni, and faculty and staff of the University—our highest priority in the face of this unprecedented coronavirus pandemic—the University is canceling this year’s on-campus Commencement events and moving them to a virtual ceremony that will be broadcast online.

Reserved seating for guests who use wheelchairs and those with limited physical mobility or medical conditions will be available for all Penn Engineering ceremonies. For guests with special access and/or seating needs, please see Accessibility Information.

Undergraduate Ceremony – 

  • Doors to The Palestra for the graduation ceremony will open at 12:00  p.m. for general guest seating. The ceremony starts at 2:00 p.m and will last until 4:30 p.m.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.

Master’s Ceremony –

  • Doors to The Palestra for the graduation ceremony will open at 12:00  p.m. for general guest seating. The ceremony starts at 2:00 p.m and will last until 4:30 p.m.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.

Ph.D. Ceremony – 

  • Doors to Irvine Auditorium will open at 3:00 p.m. for guest seating. The ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m. and will last until 4:30 p.m.
  • Following the Ph.D. commencement ceremony, the Dean and faculty of Penn Engineering will host a reception for the Ph.D. graduates and their guests from 4:30-6:00 p.m.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.
